CLAR (ICH) agrees to 4.14 Million Euro Novation with NWIC in Ireland
Nelson Spring, CLAR (ICH) and NWIC, a Caribbean insurer based in Nelson Spring, Nevis have agreed on a 4.14 Million euro renovation on the Mayfield Public Housing Development located in Claremorris, County Mayo, Ireland. NWIC had originally issued a performance bond to CLAR (ICH) on behalf of Cordil Construction of Galway who were forced into receivership in May on their bankers’ decision to withdraw their credit facilities just prior to staring the Mayfield project.
Upon the failure of Cordil, NWIC nominated Kilcawley Construction of Sligo to replace Cordil at an additional cost of approximately 650,000 euros which will be paid by NWIC. The Mayfield development at Claremorris will consist of a 36 unit residential housing complex and a community / day care centre. The project is scheduled to re-start immediately and is expected to be completed in December 2012 providing badly needed jobs to the County Mayo economy.
Northern & Western Insurance Company, Ltd. (NWIC), recently visited Malta. The purpose of the visit was to meet with Malta Regulators and to attend a meeting in regards to the current application on the license submission for Northern & Western Insurance Company (Europe). The meeting with the Malta Financial Services Authority helped provide valuable insight to NWIC in the process and we also were able to meet with Stanley Mifsud, who is the registered agent and also works for Island Insurance Management in Malta. It was very productive and definitely worth the trip.
